I’m not one to go out of my way to write reviews but felt that I needed to after my experience with this company. If I could give zero stars that would be the review.In the process of a complete property renovation I messaged Mason Hawkes who was advertising good prices via Facebook Marketplace. I discussed what we required and was happy to help out a small local business and put quite a lot of business their way.I paid for an initial order over £300 and was told that it was free delivery.I was promised on Tuesday that I would be told what time my delivery would be arriving for the Wednesday. I waited until 6pm and hadn’t heard anything. On Wednesday morning the builders were on site and waiting for the materials. I contacted Wern Wood and was told that my materials were being picked and would be with me HOPEFULLY very shortly?The builders waited and then at midday I received a text message to say that the delivery would not be made as they were too busy elsewhere???I contacted them to complain that the builders were sat there waiting and they then got the materials out just before the builders were due to go home!I received an invoice with a £20 delivery fee when I was clearly told it was free delivery!I have contacted Wern Wood and their attitude was Oh we will deduct this off your next order??All I can say is if you want to deal with a company who add fees to your bill without you knowing and mess you about with deliveries then Wern Wood is ideal.My advice don’t bother!Update : The company’s response below is inaccurate. For clarity, 1/ I was told originally what the rate was for the plasterboards that I was ordering and this can be found on Mason Hawkes Facebook page, there was no difference in price based on the amount ordered.2/ I ordered over £300 of materials for one delivery and was told it was free delivery.3/ I amended the order as you called me to say that you could not supply insulated plasterboards but the order was still over £300.4/ I was told that you would send me an invoice via WhatsApp but instead the delivery driver gave it to the builder. You only sent the invoice the next day following my complaint regarding the delivery fee. Why would I contact you to complain about a delivery fee if you had previously told me about it??5/ After paying for the materials it was a battle to get them delivered and the builders could have got on with the plasterboarding had you not messed about with the delivery. One minute you message to say that hopefully you will deliver then another message to say that the van is being loaded for my delivery then a text at midday to say that you are too busy to deliver, then you will try to get the materials to me??I have screen shots to support this.
