The website and auction is great

The website and auction is great. If I had to rate the site and experience on just the auction site it would be 5 stars, but as a whole package the full experience must be rated. First of all they make things pretty clear however they could make the shipping charges a little easier to navigate (at the front end) as I was new, I found I had to look around for quite a while for the charges.I think if you want to fully enjoy the auction you need to be bidding on the more rare expensive items as there does seem to be a lot of Jack Daniels and other cheaper stuff around on there. If you do look at the cheaper items you have to consider commission charges, shipping costs and maybe import duties. This can leave you with a bill close to if not more than what it would cost in the shops. Not whiskey hammers issue but something you should be aware of. After my first auction I won some bottles at roughly half the price, but shipping made it the same price albeit bottles that you couldn’t get in stores (yet) so I placed in free storage, you get 2 months free then is £2 a day after this per bottle. Two auctions later I’d amassed 5 more bottles (Europe warehouse) this makes shipping from £45 to £70 for 6 bottles total. Not too bad. So now I’ve factored the cost of shipping and what I paid in the auctions still a worthy chase. Now the courier wants a further £128 in duty and vat which makes my good priced auction the same if not more than retail. Only saved by a few bottles appear a little more rare and balanced the price I have now finally paid. I have to tell myself it was worth it still lol.Again not whiskey hammers faults at all but I am reviewing the whole experience. It hasn’t put me fully off doing it again, but any future auctions I will simply ignore the cheaper bargain looking lots as they in my opinion are simply not worth the hassle. One bonus experience I managed to bag a bottle set that is no longer supplied here in the uk am I paid a reasonable price for it. 10 years trying to get that one so overall I’m happy.
