On May 1st, 2025, we contracted Brightside to handle our move from Florida to Ohio. I was quoted a price without anyone coming out and looking at what we had to move. Two or 3 days before the first available pick up day they reviewed what I had, and price went up 50%. I was stuck. It was too late to hire someone else and they knew it. We agreed to pay it since we really didn't have a choice. The 3 day pick-up window was honored and on the 3rd day a company arrived and said they wanted $3,000 more. That was enough We told them we're not paying a penny more. Even if we had to cancel our house closing in Ohio and lose a $2,000 deposit. It just didn't matter. We felt we were being scammed and we weren't giving the one more dollar. The driver went to the cab of his tractor and came back and said his supervisor said they would go ahead and move us for the agreed upon price. They loaded up, took our belongings and instead of delivering it two days later, they unloaded 12 days later. Leaving us to find living arrangements for the 12 days. I called Customer Service everyday and got voice mail and no one called back. After several days of this I finally called sales and they answered everytime. Of course Sales always answered. They would get ahold of CS and transfere me. It was the only way I could talk to CS. CS basically told me to call the company they had contracted to move us. They had washed their hands after we paid them. We never paid the Trucking company a penny. We paid Brightside.Other companies had reviewed all of our belongings from the pictures from when our house was for sale and guaranteed the price. No exceptions. Go with one of those. Also, look at the BBB review of Brightside. I wish I had. We feel that Brightside owes us for some of the living arrangement expenses. We were completely mislead by the sales department.
