Review of WHN Solicitors (, Family Law and conveyancing I would rate WHN 1 star if possible. My experience with solicitor Mr SP and the firm overall was damaging, costly, and deeply unprofessional.Billing was unclear from the start: phone calls were free, but once we met, every minute was billed without warning. More seriously, my solicitor (SP) confirmed I could email my ex under a non-molestation order. I followed his advice, was later arrested for breach, and this mistake damaged my child contact case for over a year. Follow-up was slow, statements were vague, and transcripts were requested far too late.Court hearings were repeatedly mishandled, with missing or late documents that made it look like I wasn’t taking proceedings seriously. On property matters, WHN delayed and even lost track of my file, causing my ex to withdraw from a buyout and leaving me at risk of losing my home. After filing my complaint, WHN claimed “the file is silent” on clear incidents of malpractice. They are sworn by oath to be honest, yet their findings felt like lies to protect their staff. They charged me close to £20,000 in a year, yet at my final hearing I was left without a solicitor and forced to instruct a barrister just days before. While my barrister was excellent, the short notice limited my options. WHN then blamed me for not submitting evidence on time—when in fact nobody from their side had prepared me because Stephen had stepped down.In my experience, WHN cannot be trusted. Their communication is slow, misleading, and dismissive. I had to chase them at every stage, and their complaint process downplayed serious mistakes that could have cost SP his job.Although SP can present well in court, WHN as a firm is careless, uncommunicative, and dishonest. I would strongly advise avoiding them at all costs. Since my response i have asked for call backs from senior members of staff for 3 days. I eventually spoke to the head of family law after repeatedly calling over 11 times back to back and trying his direct number 3 times. I informed him I was recording the phone call he got frustrated during the conversation and told me to "shut up" when asking for clarity despite him being recorded. I dont expect this from the director of a family law firm especially when I have such serious claims and hard evidence.
