My engagement ring was made 6 years ago (and had to be remade as they produced the wrong ring). After only 6 years, my diamond fell out in the shower. Apparently, the wear had been noted at the last clean but I was completely unaware that it had been “MOT’d” and that damage had been noted. I was under the impression I was signing the receipt as evidence that I had collected it. I now have to pay over £200 to fix it and have been told that it’s normal wear and it could happen every six years. If it’s normal, then all my friends must be abnormal as I don’t know anyone who has had this after just 6 years. I was offered a goodwill gesture of only having to pay £200 for it to be fixed. There is more poor workmanship on the ring which led to them asking if I had worn another ring and worn one side down. It was like that from day one.
