This company "upsold" my mother-in-law into paying $1000 for Norton. She was installing a printer and accidentally ended up on a website that looked *very* similar to HP’s printer setup website. The printer setup kept failing using their site, and she kept being prompted to chat with someone via a chat feature on the site. That turned into a phone call where they said she didn’t have good anti-virus and they signed her up with “ NORTON LIFETIME , PLATINUM,+ Unlimited- $999.99 Technical Support”. Fortunately, she called us for help, and we were able to interrupt the process. She was also able to halt the charge with the credit card.In response to the company's reaction to my review, I would suggest searching for "FTC IT service scam" and checking out the FTC's guidance on these types of services. The company did not pretend to be HP, but that's about all the credit I will give them. Much of my mother-in-law's experience occurred as described by the FTC. And yes, a complaint has been filed with the FTC.
