FD is great as it's the rating here, but I did notice and have now multiple times brought to their attention - case of FD passing on the cost of their fresh seafood packaging (plastic containers/ cellophane wrap/ bags) per $ per Lbs. that of the good being sold. This happened to us with fish and other seafood - octopus/ mussels/ shrimps... This in every case resulted in 2-3-4 extra bucks in charges for any given order. Meaning besides these extra charges we also noticed quite heavy packaging in number of cases unnecessary - if octopus already comes in industrial grade plastic vacuum pack with the product label and weight, why would you have to place it in the plastic disposable box, and then wrap it 3 times with the plastic wrap, and then weigh it as such???On the other hand, I do understand the need to good packaging as this is grocery door-to-door delivery service and customers want their stuff delivered in perfect condition - but it seems no logic or reason is being applied on case-to-case basis, but an overall "over-packaging" preventive measure used. The last time I escalated this (2 weeks ago) I was ensured the seafood department will be advised of this misleading practice, and also that it will be brought to senior managements attention. However, the very next time I ordered same exact thing happened again. While I appreciate the ease of dealing with FD, great selection or products, somewhat reasonable prices given it's a front door service, I cannot accept the non-Green mentality with it's "over-packaging" and then passing on the charges for the same to the customers at $ per Lbs. of goods they buy!
