Before joining IDOL Academy, I seriously considered trying to piece together my own instructional design training using online videos, LinkedIn Learning, or similar resources. I figured I could do it for less money. While that might work for some, I'm incredibly glad I chose IDOL Academy instead. It's not just theoretical learning; you're doing substantial work that prepares you for the field. This hands-on experience, combined with the requirement to complete an internship for graduation, offers an excellent way to become a skilled instructional designer. You simply can't replicate this level of practical application and guided learning by self-studying.The feedback I received for each milestone was extremely helpful. It helped me understand precisely what quality instructional design looks like and allowed me to refine my skills in a way that wouldn't have been possible on my own.It's important to note that IDOL Academy isn't a passive learning experience. You absolutely have to be willing to put in the time and effort to get the most out of it. This includes engaging with other students and providing peer feedback, a learning opportunity I think some might overlook but which is incredibly beneficial. If you're dedicated and ready to do the work, you'll gain a ton of valuable skills and experience.I was truly happy with the skills and knowledge I gained, but it's worth noting that the job market for new instructional designers, particularly for remote positions, can be tough. Even though IDOL Academy prepares you exceptionally well, it doesn't automatically secure you a job after graduation. For anyone serious about a career in instructional design, I still wholeheartedly recommend IDOL Academy.
