I was very unhappy with my previous tracking companies' product and service. I had been trying to resolve an issue with false notification for months on their Solar Tracker. I tried their solar tracker because I got tired of going to storage every couple months to get their tracker and bring it home to recharge it. I saw an ad for LoneStar's Oyster 3 tracker, which is supposed to have up to 10 years of battery life, and if it runs out, it's only 3 AA batteries to replace. The Osyter3 has multiple notifications that can be set up. One is to notify you if it lost signal. But since it only powers on to check signal every 12 hours, I was getting notices every 12 hours when it woke up, then went back into sleep / standby mode. If it is sleeping and there is an "event" someone moves or disturbs the trailer, It will wake up and send the appropriate warning message. Tech Support was very helpful in helping me understand the differences to a powered up all the time tracker versus the way the Osyter3 works. I turned off the lost signal warnings and after some testing am confident the if the trailer is actually disturbed, I will get proper notifications and tracking and will be able to track and recover my trailer. The Oyster3 is a good solution for an unpowered trailer in a remote location.
