I’ve never struggled to get matches on dating apps, but I love this so much more. Meeting people in person first, rather than judging a profile, puts the emphasis on selecting for mutual chemistry. The result is getting to avoid first dates without chemistry - its so imprecise on apps, selecting for appearance/interests/etc as second-best proxies for chemistry, and I’ve always felt like there’s great people I’m not swiping on because it’s hard to judge by their profile.Anyways, went to speed dating and had two great matches I’m excited to go on full length dates with. So fun!! Definitely wouldn’t have known to swipe right on them on the apps either.9
