I have done a couple speed dating events over the years, and so far this was my favorite experience. It's a small number of people so you get a longer time to chat (though 10 minutes still goes by so fast). I found the Web app they use to tell you who to talk to next very easy to use, and I never had a moment where I could not find the person I was supposed to chat with next. The vibe was very relaxed and low stakes (this was for queer women so might need to factor that in as well to the chill vibes), and I had a very nice time chatting with new people. Full disclosure, I did match with someone, so that could influence my feelings about it, but I left the event thinking it had been fun and worthwhile even if I didn't match with anyone. The downside of fewer people to chat with is that you are more likely not to match, but even with that in mind, this was the best speed dating experience I've had so far. Definitely worse ways to kill a couple hours at a bar for sure.
