SMART METER INSTALL NIGHTMARE

NYSEG pays Grid One Solutions to do work for them. Over 2 months ago, I was supposed to get a new smart electric meter. After weeks of trying to get an appt. and seeing no one, finally someone shows up and says they can't do it because it is rusted shut; a specialist has to come do it. I try to make the appt. and am told they are really busy, someone will call me. A week later, I get a NYSEG notice that I opted out and will be getting charged a monthly fee because I do not have a smart meter! I called NYSEG and told them no such thing happened. NYSEG removes the opt out and notifies Grid One. I try to make appt again and get told the same thing, busy, will call back. A week later, I get another notice saying I opted out by refusing access to the meter!! It was dated the same day I called NSYEG the first time! I called NYSEG again and told them it's just plain not true. NYSEG supervisor gets on 3 way call with Grid One supervisor and they both agree it will be taken care of. So I call again to make the appt. and now I am told they already installed a smart meter at my address the day before the sent the 2nd notice saying I refused access! Sorry, no. Same old meter is still here. Supposedly a grid one supervisor will call me back. My next call may be to the newspapers and TV stations. You can not make up stuff this nuts. I wonder how many other people Grid One is doing this to. Stay tuned.Update: another week has gone by and 3 more calls to Grid One and NYSEG with no results. My last call to customer service resulted in Grid One trying to call 3 supervisors and not one answering the call. I finally got a call back from a supervisor who promised the meter would be changed within 2 days and would take only 10 minutes and that I didn't need to be home. Well, it's been three days and now I get "I'll look into it" from the same supervisor. Next week I'm sending certified letters stating I've done everything possible I can. I'm done wasting my time with this nonsense. Are they doing this on purpose? Try charging me extra because I don't have a smart meter and I'll be filing complaints with every regulator possible and contacting the media.
