Expensive mistake

Apparently something has changed with this company, or they delete all bad reviews. Do your homework. Research your options. Understand exactly what you are receiving for the thousands of dollars you hand them - up front! While there appears to be very little expense for materials, they still want 50% up front, before work begins. That should have been red flag #1.They absolutely charge much more than others, but don't provide a higher quality of work. And, when they ask you to sign a blank line on their phone, they tell you it is your approval of credit card payment, when actually it is applying your signature to their proposal, which is 10 pages of fine print. I thought I was careful as I advised the sales rep that I would make a down payment in order to get the job scheduled, but I would not sign the document package until I had an opportunity to review every page. The proposal required several changes, so I never signed the first proposal package, or so I thought. When the revised document package was emailed to me at 6:39 am, the day work was to begin, there were documents dated the day I made down payment included, which allegedly had been signed by me. I never signed a proposal from PermaPier. I approved an almost $4,000 down payment, charged to my Amex, which required my signature. The sales rep ran my card on through his cell phone and asked me to sign on a blank line. I asked if he could back up so I could see what I was signing, he assured me it was just acknowledgement of the down payment on my credit card. If this review ever sees the light of day, I will provide more details, once our engineer inspects the so called repair work. To us, it appears that the 14 piers they sold us, resulted in no visible correction to the foundation. Be Careful!
