Similar to other's experiences, I found a great looking rental on craigslist. I'm usually pretty good at identifying the scam right away - I've lived in this city long enough to know when something is too good to be true - but the post seemed legitimate, with a normal gmail email address. I emailed about seeing it and received a one line, cold response from a completely different email address. they directed me to "fill out my info" at a link that led me to "Renttoownlistingz.com". Seemed fishy, so a quick Google search led me here to confirm my suspicions. Don't trust it. Don't give out any of your info. Definitely a scam.
