I rarely write reviews, but my terrible experience with Rock My Resume and its founder, Hue, compels me to share this so others can be aware.First of all, this company has no physical address, no Google reviews, and the phone number they provided in the email turned out to be invalid. This alone made me question if they are even legit.I reached out to a few recruiters from my target industry who provide resume editing and interview prep services. Hue from Rock My Resume unexpectedly reached out to pitch me a service proposal. She asked for my resume and sent me a link to schedule a 15-minute "free consultation." I booked it for the same day—but no one called me. When I tried to call back, it was an empty number. I rescheduled for the next day, and this time she finally called.The first thing she asked was, "Do you have any questions?" I asked if she could point out issues with my resume and suggest which roles or industries I should target. She immediately shot back, saying, "This call is not to answer your questions; it’s just a service introduction call." (Then why even ask if I had questions?)Fine—I was still willing to listen. She started pushing their $399 resume and cover letter service, so I asked about the background of their resume editor. Specifically, I wanted to know if the editor had industry experience because I’m looking for someone who really understands my field—not a generalist.That’s when things got weird. She seemed stunned by my question and started giving me vague answers, saying the editor has five years of experience—in her company. I asked again, "Do they have industry experience?"—I just wanted a simple yes or no.Suddenly, she got super defensive and started rambling about how they work with "all industries" and have "connections with senior managers everywhere." I asked her once more to simply answer my question, and she became even more agitated. At that point, I realized I was wasting my time, so I ended the call.In my experience, Rock My Resume is unprofessional, evasive when asked straightforward questions, and raises a lot of red flags regarding legitimacy. If you’re looking for genuine industry expertise and transparent communication, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.I hope this helps others avoid a frustrating and time-wasting experience.
