Jeffrey was a great help, offering guidance toward my best debt solution. He recommended debt counseling with Consolidated Credit, a non-profit in business to help people. They helped me with my credit card debt, getting me a lower interest rate and pay off plan. My plan is a cheaper monthly payment than solutions offered by debt settlement companies, without the negative impact of debt settlement. The settlement companies try not to tell you that they let your debt go into default. Until you have paid them enough to offer a settlement, they do nothing. The bank may not even know that you are doing a settlement. All the bank can do is try to collect from you. Research carefully and you may find that Consolidated credit can help you avoid the predatory methods of settlement companies. I remain in good standing, even though my credit cards will be closed.
