I have been using Yeomans @ Eastbourne for my servicing, MOTs ( and in November 2012 the purchase of a new Toyota car) for the past 14 year or so. I have never failed to be impressed with the Yeomans brand and experience throughout that time.In May this year I received emails from a car finance claims company asking me if I had ever been mis-sold car finance even on ( in my case in 2012 ) a PCP 0% deal. I am always highly sceptical about such approaches and claims but I did get an advisor to look through my purchase paperwork. He asked me why an amount of £1200 had been been charged to me as an 'HP Settlement' and funded on the 0% finance deal as that seemed unusual. In response to this and on the 20th May 2023 I emailed Yeomans @ Eastbourne and simply asked what this £1200 recharge, labelled as 'HP Settlement' referred to. To Yeomans @ Eastbourne credit, I had an almost instant response from their General Manager stating that the figure of £1200 'most likely' referred to outstanding finance on my past exchange vehicle and that 'he could be of no further assistance'. On the same day, I emailed this General Manager back stating would not have been possible as I owned the title to the part exchange vehicle outright having purchased my part exchange car direct from the leasing company ( leased through my employment in Local Government ) and provided evidence of an invoice and a copy of my signed Yeomans' declaration that my part exchange was unencumbered with finance. On the 31st May 2023, some eleven days later, I received an email reply from the General Manager stating that due to the lapse of time that had occurred here, they could make no further comment. Of course I agree that some ten years since the incident is a long time to refer to but on paper ( and I have copies of every document relating to this transaction ) it appears that I have been charged an amount of £1200 for something that clearly was never due and payable. I believe that needs an explanation despite the length of time. On the 12th June 2023, I sent a letter of complaint/investigation to the Chairman & Managing Director at the Yeomans Ltd addess in Ferring, Worthing. That was sent as a tracked postal item and I have a copy of Royal Mail's confirmation that it was signed for on the 13th June 2023. I fully explained the situation, apologised for the 'late in the day complaint' and while I fully understood that the Statute of Limitations prevent me from requesting legal challenge to this matter, I had only recently become aware of the irregularity in question having purchased my Toyota car following my wife's untimely death and working twelve hours a day to cope, I was not best placed to examine the sale invoice in any detail and in any event I put 100% trust in the Sales Executive concerned and of course Yeomans as and trusted brand and experience. I provided a wealth of paper copies in support of my enquiry as even if their own 'deal files' were no more, I had a copy of everything they had provided me with at the time.Sadly, and to the date of posting this review ( the 16th July 2023 ) I have not received a reply or acknowledgment to my letter of the 12th June 2023 and unless this is a simple oversight, I can only assume that this is a case of 'corporate' discretion being the better part of valour, which is a shame for a company that #lives its motto, 'Built On Trust'#. I confirm that as a Verified User of the Trustpilot platform, this is a genuine account of my experience with this company.** Addendum : Interestingly, and as at the 14th April 2024, I have still to await a polite reply from Yeomans, either direct or on here, but I also note that Yeomans have only replied to 10 of 37 negative reviews and that suggests that this company do not wish to engage with those people who have not received a reply and that is indeed sad to note .
