I worked with a salesperson, Cara Fiske, to discuss the aids I wanted. She was very helpful and seemed knowledgeable. I was looking for aids to be the best in noisy restaurant environments as my Costco Aids were not good in those situations. Having done much research, I wanted to get the Phonak Audéo Sphere Infinio I90, which she agreed was my best option for my needs. In our purchase discussions, I also asked about having my hearing tested and the aids set up with Real Ear Measurement. Cara agreed that this method was the gold standard set up. She initially said the audiologist near me had the equipment to provide the REM setup. We proceeded with purchase and placed order. Shortly after, Cara informed me that the local person no longer had the REM equipment, but she would see about finding another fitter. In the meantime, she suggested we start with the local person and if I still needed the REM, she would make it happen. She said there was a person in Delaware that had the capability. First, the incorrect aids were delivered to my home. I had to return those and wait for the correct ones to arrive. Upon receiving them, I met with the local fitter for a hearing test and setup. He was not well versed in setting up these particular aids and did not set up the various available programs the aids offered. No attention was paid to the proper size of the domes and I was experiencing a lot of feedback. Two weeks later, I met with him again to adjust and he still did not know how to set up the additional programs. He had to call Phonak to get them to teach him. He made an adjustment for the feedback, which was better but still occurring. The performance in a mildly noisy environment was not good and I reached out to Cara to arrange for a fitter with REM equipment. Cara did not respond to my texts or emails. Then, a fellow by the name of Lathan Hickey (Head of Patient Success) sent me a reply telling me that Cara was no longer with Yes Hearing and went on to tell me that Real Ear Measurement is not universally accepted or a required standard of care. Had Cara said that they would not provide REM for my aids from the beginning, I would have gone elsewhere for my them.I am not happy with the organization not backing what their sales staff commits to and would advise a prospective buyer to proceed with caution.
