YC’s recruitment process is a classic bait-and-switch. They are highly attentive until the contract is signed, at which point they effectively ghost you for any support or HR needs. While my emails went unanswered for weeks, they had no problem spamming my personal phone with texts and calls the second they needed something from me.The lack of structure is staggering. Pay dates are an unpredictable "whenever" between Tuesday and Friday, and they expect employees to subsidize their travel costs with a sub-standard 19-cent mileage rate. Most telling was their handling of a pre-agreed holiday. I was given the run-around for two months, being passed from one person to the next, only to have the final company deny my day off after being told by YC I "should be fine" with my request. This company appears to survive by exploiting the vulnerability of immigrants or young professionals who are in no position to fight back. Avoid this organization at all costs; they have zero integrity and even less professional competence.
