Attended TECA in Aberdeen yesterday with my 15 year old son, easy to find but no tea/coffee facilities for parents. My son was very excited to have a 1 hour lesson as his very first time being the wheel of a car but he left quiet and deflated with his head hanging and wouldn't speak. I had been watching and had been incredibly frustrated wondering why his car hadn't moved for approx 70% of the lesson!! All the other (much younger and smaller) children were driving around and around whilst my son seemed to be fixed on doing small forward/backwards movements in a corner or reversing in between cones for approx 30% of the lesson with the rest being stationary!!! Little or no driving!!! Turned out the lesson had been very serious and he felt very guilty if any mistakes were made as there was little encouragement, lots of lecturing and he just wanted to get out of TECA and go home. I asked the instructor for feedback which was very minimal and serious and was advised not to expect perfection after a first lesson, he will improve with more lessons!!! There was little or no positive feedback!!! My son had barely driven the car!!! My son doesn't wish to return and neither do I. What a waste of £100 and I am so sad this was a negative first time driving experience for my son. We haven't spoken much about it since as he just wants to forget it happened. He is normally such a happy, enthusiastic boy. I do not recommend!!!!
I got given this experience as a gift to do half hour of driving as preparation to turning 17. This was a wonderful experience and got me ready for the driving world. I would reccomend highly.

He especially loved the opportunity to drive a porsche! So much so that we booked him a 2nd go on the same day!

This lesson was fantastic for my son, as it helped him gain experience and confidence before he starts driving on the road. The staff were friendly and supportive, creating a safe environment to learn alongside other vehicles. The instructors provided valuable feedback, and each lesson was customized to meet his experience level and needs.
My 15-year-old was thrilled with his driving experience today. He had never driven before, but soon he was navigating the course, changing gears, steering, and using the clutch with ease. The staff were friendly and accommodating. As a driving instructor myself, I've seen students who had prior experience from similar programs before age 17, and their first lessons tend to go much more smoothly. I will definitely be scheduling more lessons for my son before he turns 17, so I can take over afterward.
The instructors are friendly and supportive, giving young people a fantastic opportunity to learn driving in a safe setting. Our sons have taken several lessons, and the positive feedback from the instructors has boosted their confidence for when they begin driving on the road.
This was my daughter's second session with the same instructor, and she was very happy about it. The instructor was approachable and patient, making my daughter feel at ease. She thoroughly enjoyed the driving experience and is excited for her next one.

Today was truly amazing; we visited a new venue for the first time. Upon entering, the young man at the counter recognized my son's name without us mentioning it. The staff were fantastic, especially Danny, who ensured everything went smoothly. My son's instructor, Mark, was exceptional—my son really enjoys his lessons with him.
