I signed up with this company for a one-year tenancy and paid a non-refundable deposit of £383. Two months before the end of my term, I received an email asking whether I wanted to extend my tenancy or move out. I informed them that I would be moving out, with an approximate date of 21st March (7 days after my tenancy ended).
At no point was I told that staying beyond 14th March would result in an additional £383 charge. Then, on 15th March, I received an email stating that I had to pay another non-refundable £383 deposit for extending my stay by just 7 days.
Had I been informed of this in January, I would have arranged to leave by 14th March.
I have given 1 star—not because of the charge itself, but due to the lack of clear communication and transparency when I initially confirmed I would not be renewing my tenancy.
