I am sharing my experience with this security software and associated company with the aim of helping other computer users from falling in awful bad experience and loss that I suffered.I purchased a 2 year /730 days license to be used on the Zonealarm Extreme security platform, used it for 199 days after which that platform was killed and superseded by newer platform of the same name with the addition of “Next Gen” in the name.The Extreme security Next Gen is not compatible at all in any way with the previous Extreme security, it requires total removal of the previous version discarding any user setups and tunes made through its use in addition to that is its none compatibility with the license of the Extreme security version requiring the user to buy completely new license at elevated prices.I have contacted customer support for help as one would normally in order to get away for me to continue using my valid remaining license of 531 days only to be faced with one hell of bad treatment one after another. For starter they spend best part of 5 days questioning the authenticity of my license and how I purchased it, after I provided that proof their aviation tactic took a different twist.I got passed from customer support agent to another and another, day after day to a count of 6 till now including and 23 days later, still ongoing with me remaining with no cover! What a reflection of a company that cares for its customers and seeks good reputation as they claim. Throughout this experience the emerging picture my repeated contact to customer support is bad attitude, slopy Sholders /don’t care and have no clue all strongly visible, throughout which not a single team leader or manager ever encountered at all in all communications! What an intriguing setup!The other big disappointment is that I have been a very long term customer buying this product with customer support knowing that well yet it's to no avail or any weight, it makes one wonder if they really are that hard up!Another scary discovery I found from customer support is that the new zonealarm extreme security next gen platform can only be installed via online installer and no offline installer is provided unlike the normal practice of software use by many other companies and similar platform. This process is in effect enabling the software to have unconditional access to the PC with running many hidden applications and functions in the background without the user seeing any or knowing what’s actually being done, that is serious breach of privacy laws disregarding user rights under the banner of “using the software”.Simple autopsy is that the company either didn’t believe that its possible to have a valid continuing license to exist at point of them killing that platform or they did but didn’t care, both of which reflects unprofessional and bad customer courtesy with zero care /goodwill here in addition to its simply echoing as a clear plain scam with them only focusing on few dollers it's really beyond petty.If my review here can save just one customer from falling in the claws of this company then I would have been compensated for my painful experience and losses serving a useful propose and all not lost in vain.
