Zopa limited payment types are a problem.

Excellent customer service. Nice iPhone App interface but I feel quite disappointed with the Biscuit current account capabilities.Zopa lose 1 star as they only work with Faster payments and BACS.Zopa are not geared up to deal with payment methods such as:1. Cash deposits (including those made at the Post Office)2. Cheques3. SEPA 4. SWIFT payments5. IBAN, most international payments6. CHAPS paymentsI wanted to use the Zopa Biscuit account for all my current account needs but as I was starting to transfer all my direct debits and standing orders over to Biscuit, I encountered a couple of problems.Zopa would not accept the account details for a couple of standing orders, which are working fine with my old Halifax Reward account. Zopa kept rejecting the sort codes saying they “do not exist” and the App wouldn’t allow me to proceed with setting up the standing orders. So, I telephoned Zopa customer services and they were very pleasant and helpful. They did get back to me by email about the sort codes problem, saying "we would need a unique sort code, normally there is a general account number and sort code and then a ref." This response is not a solution, as there is no other “unique sort code” to be had. I have to use the sort code that the payees have given me for the standing orders and as those sort codes already work 100% successfully with other banks, it appears that Zopa definitely have a glitchy system. The App wouldn’t even allow me to input the account numbers and reference numbers, as the page wouldn’t proceed past sort code rejection. It doesn’t make sense that Zopa will not accept existing standing order details that have been in force for years elsewhere. So, unfortunately, in view of the above problems, I won’t be using Zopa for my main current account.I started using Zopa for savings ages ago, so on the positive side, I’ll be continuing with my Zopa regular saver, for now, and I have a direct debit running in my Zopa Biscuit account, to max out the £1500 annual limit on DD cashback. I’ll review the whole situation after the fixed interest 12 month period, as I don’t stay with a bank or building society when they’re no longer competitive with interest rates or rewards. I only discovered Zopa’s limited payment capabilities when looking into the sort code problem. It was at that point that I realised if I used Zopa Biscuit as my only current account, I’d be really stuck in certain situations e.g: when elderly relatives send me a cheque on birthdays, when I want to move money to savings accounts for which Zopa rejects the sort codes, or if, on the odd occasion, I want to order goods from abroad, requiring international payment by IBAN, such as from an Italian artisan leathersmith that I’ve ordered from in the past. So it’s better to have all payment options available, rather than so many limitations.I had high hopes for Zopa Biscuit as I wanted to sort out my banking and savings, to reduce the number of accounts that I currently have. If Zopa manage to expand their banking capabilities and iron out the glitches to recognise sort codes that do actually exist, then I would be happy to use Zopa Biscuit for my banking requirements. Sorry Zopa, no hard feelings, just facts.
