My car was broke down near a retail park 90 miles away from home. It was suddenly all the electronics were shut down, the steering wheel became very stiff. We thought it was the wheels but all the wheels were ok. We thought it was the battery but I had a newly battery replaced. We used the portable handheld jump start, when we did the jump start the engine started quickly but it started only for a few minutes then the engine died down again. So my husband had to connect the jump start continuously attached to the car battery while driving and drove to the nearest safest place and the safest place was in my cousin’s house as the house was just 2 minutes away from the retail park. But then there was smell of burnt on the positive side of alternator. So I contacted AA via apps. It was easy to contact them. There was a good communication between the customer and the AA recovery. In times like this, you feel really in panic. But then they were really efficient. There was a bit of a delay during the recovery but the thing is my family was in a safe place while waiting for the rescue as they reached to my cousin’s house. With AA road assistance, I had a basic cover only as it was a special offer for my car insurance. I paid £388 extra for this recovery as one off payment to bring my car and 2 passengers home from Altricham to Birmingham. It’s a big chunk of payment but at least my family was brought safe home. I don’t mind the payment, money can be earned again, life won’t. Thank you to the AA team for your rescue.
