Lovely surroundings and welcoming staff.Great variety of savoury treats.Really good scone.Cakes looked the part, but didn’t all deliver on taste and texture.Apple tart lacked fruit and flavour. Pastry hard. Gingerbread dry, flavour overpowering of treacle, some stem ginger may help.Pineapple and cream does not make a trifle without more ingredients.The choux puff had a dense filling, which didn’t in my opinion, work well with the light pastry.No doubt the menu changes, or I hope so, before I return next month with different friends.
