After having cataract surgery on both of my eyes, the procedures went beautifully — but I soon realized how sensitive my eyes had become to sunlight and bright light. Once I received my new prescription glasses, I thought my troubles were behind me. Unfortunately, my new lenses automatically adjust to light, which means that in the car or my office, they lose their tint and protection. The burning, itching, and dryness that followed made things pretty miserable.I reached out to Tom Ford, only to learn that they don’t make clip-ons for my frames. I ordered a clip on sunglasses for my wife. Her eye glasses have a different shape to them. I checked a number of sites trying to find something that would work for her with no luck. 88Clipon had some shapes that were close. I placed the order and provided the make, model and the dimensions listed on the frame. Their site advises they do custom make each clip on. I received a notice I think within a week that the clip on was being shipped. When they arrived the fit was perfect which made my wife very happy. Happy wife, happy life.
88clipon is a real business. I personally met the owner at his place of business (very nice gentleman) to have my eyeglasses measured for the clip on sunglasses. My husband and I both bought custom made mirrored clip on sunglasses from 88clipon, that were made for us in about 35 minutes while we waited. The owner also gave us a nice discount.
Purchased many pairs from them before but they recently changed their design which has screw heads that hold the sunglass lens to the clip exposed and can scratch your eyeglasses which has happened to mine. The exposed screws have scratched both my frame and lens. They won’t answer the phone or reply to my email. I went back and looked at previous clip-ons I had ordered and they have the screws sealed or have used a plastic push in tab instead of exposed screws. Be careful buying from them. $1000 eyeglasses ruined
I spoke with customer service after they told me that they did not have a clip-on for my glasses. We canceled the order and I received a cancellation email. However, they charged my credit card regardless. Now they won't answer the phone or my email. I reported the transaction to my credit card company.
My first issue is that my order took way too long to arrive from California to Texas. My second issue is when my order arrives, a screw is missing and I can't use my item (a waste of $70). The third issue is I reached out this "company" but nobody answers the phone, emails or messages. They obviously don't know how to do business. Save time, money and aggravation and take your business elsewhere!
