Completely unacceptable experience – steer clear

I reached out to this service to inquire about recovering the Windows OS on the same day. I was informed it should be feasible after inspecting the laptop. Upon arrival, I was quoted £150 and agreed to proceed based on the promise it would be completed that day. Shortly after my departure, I was informed it wouldn't be ready until the following day, which I accepted. What should have been a one-day recovery turned into a five-day delay, with constant excuses about 'downloading things from Microsoft.' Yesterday, I visited the shop only to find my laptop switched off and untouched on a shelf, while the technician was busy with another task — despite having assured me just 10 minutes earlier on the phone that he was working on it. This morning, when I called for an update, he became rude and aggressive, ultimately hanging up on me. Today, I collected my laptop and, as expected, he tried to charge me more for work that was never completed. The price unexpectedly jumped from £150 to £200, without any prior notice or consent. After I objected — likely because another customer was present — he lowered the charge to £180, still more than what we initially agreed upon. At no point was I informed of any price change, nor did I authorize additional work. To make matters worse, the job wasn't completed correctly; he admitted he hadn't installed the laptop's brand-specific drivers, leaving me to spend over two hours downloading and installing them myself. In summary, I paid for this individual to: keep my laptop untouched for five days, miss every promised deadline, attempt to overcharge me, and leave me to complete the job myself. This experience is utterly absurd. Zero professionalism, zero transparency, zero customer service. Avoid this service and save your time and money.
