My whole experience with Aariya Diamonds was utterly disappointing. Aman is brilliant at getting customers through the door but terrible at providing the high level of customer service he claims. Following a long day of browsing the prestigious Jewellery Quarter and finding cheaper like-for-like diamond prices Aman lured us in by promising that the ring would be ready before the engagement, which was 2 weeks away. I placed an order for 3 rings and I clarified the terms of the sale with Aman. These were that I would pay in full and collect both engagement rings before the engagement and leave a £50 deposit for the £700 wedding band which is to be collected and paid in full a month before the wedding. In addition to this, I explicitly asked if he would offer me the same aftercare which was being offered by Samson Gold (which I presented to him on their quote), to which he replied ‘It’s a standard policy in Jewellery Quarter’. Fast forward a week and I’m already having trouble getting a response from him via phone or text. When I finally got through to him, he said that unfortunately my fiancé’s ring won’t be ready on time but mine will. Understandably, she was in tears but to be fair he gave us a demo ring to use for the engagement. The actual ring wasn’t ready for collection until a week after this but I accept these things can sometimes happen. The shock came when he initially refused to provide us with an invoice for the ring which cost £2700. As you can appreciate, this is a requirement of most insurance companies and the right of every customer to receive. Eventually, he emailed this over to me but excluded the aftercare which was agreed during the initial order. Again, after chasing him he revised the invoice to reflect an aftercare policy which was substantially inferior to what we had agreed. Not to mention, the invoice and valuation certificate were grammatically inaccurate, not something you expect from a so-called professional business. Furthermore, he was demanding the full payment for the wedding band (which was to be collected a month before the wedding) for which he had initially asked for a £50 deposit. On attempting to clarify the matter he responded in an extremely rude manner suggesting I should have ordered from another store and not to contact him again, showing no intention of resolving the matter. As a customer, I shouldn’t have had to chase Aman repeatedly for him to do his job. Weddings are extremely hectic to organise and amidst all the madness I had to deal with this headache which wasn’t pleasant. Aman prides himself on his customer service and based on this he has failed. He reflected no professionalism and was extremely rude. All I can say is that his initial consultation is a façade to lure customers in and I feel rather embarrassed for him. There is no such thing as negative criticism and I hope Aman welcomes criticism (as well as praise) and uses this to improve his work ethic and understands that it is unacceptable to treat paying customers with contempt.
