Horrible, horrible customer service. I asked to have my reward ability restored, and they accused me

Horrible, horrible customer service. I asked to have my reward ability restored, and they accused me of cheating... I don't understand this at all. The sweepstakes are free to enter via AMOE, and the wording in the e-mail was like I was a criminal! No apology, no kind explanation, and when I asked to cancel my subscription, they did nothing to keep my business! AARP needs to hire AMERICAN Customer Service Reps - this isn't discrimination at this point, the foreign reps just do NOT care!

I’ve been a member of AARP since 2008, and recently got offered a benefit by AARP to subscribe to Purposeful by Kumanu. There was. 7 day trial, and after 5 days I decided it wasn’t for me. It has been near impossible to cancel this subscription. Google how to cancel Purposeful and it says go to account settings and choose cancel- but that option doesn’t exist. 2ndry suggestion was to send email to support at kumanu dot com, and my decision to cancel is still in limbo until ‘they review my request’.
This smells like AARP is suggesting an app just because they got financial benefit, and don’t care if it’s members get ripped off.
I an starting to question why I pay for this AARP membership- I can find companies to rip me off without paying an annual subscription to AARP for suggestions on companies ghat want to rip me off.

Disappointing Price Discrepancy with Travel Service

Using the travel service for flight bookings revealed a price that was $1100 higher than a quote from another platform. The same itinerary from Florida to Germany was significantly more expensive with this service. This is quite frustrating, and I'm unclear about the benefits of the membership.

AARP Travel is pricier than other options

Booking flights through the service showed a price that was $1100 higher than what I found elsewhere. The itinerary from Florida to Germany was exactly the same, yet AARP Travel charged significantly more. This is outrageous. I'm left wondering what benefits my membership actually provides.

AARP seems more like a marketing scheme

AARP comes off as a marketing nonprofit that feels somewhat deceptive. They promote a certain health plan for seniors, but it has a rejection rate much higher than the industry average, and no discounts are offered. I managed to find a better plan at a lower cost on my own.

Overwhelmed with unsolicited offers

After joining, I was inundated with junk mail pushing insurance products. It feels like a waste of money.

Warning about AARP's trustworthiness

I received solicitation for auto insurance from a specific company endorsed by AARP. After discussing my accident history, I was given misleading information about how it would affect my premium. This seems to violate insurance regulations in my state. AARP appears to disregard legal standards, so proceed with caution.

This service is ineffective

The service is ineffective. The discounts for gym memberships are minimal, and they seem to be selling personal information to insurance companies without consent.

Many reviews seem exaggerated

After reading several reviews, it seems like a lot of complaints come from individuals who just want to find something to criticize. For example, claims about insurance rates are unfounded based on my own experience. AARP provides valuable health information and various products; if you don’t want them, simply don’t engage.

Challenging membership cancellation process

Cancelling my membership is not straightforward; there’s no option to do so via the app or website. I had to reach out to customer service multiple times, only to be asked repeatedly why I wanted to cancel. It’s a frustrating experience.
