booking.com making money by assisting criminals
Extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience with Booking.com.
I arrived on time, unlocked the door of my booked entire apartment and stepped inside. Without any prior notice or permission, the host suddenly opened the door and stood there staring at me. I felt extremely unsafe and immediately left.
Instead of helping me, the host then falsely marked the entire booking as “No-Show” – even though I was physically there and have clear video evidence of the incident. Booking.com knows about the video and the facts.
Because of the false No-Show claim, I was locked out of the apartment from the very first day. I had to pay the full amount for the entire stay, but I was not allowed to use the property at all. I was forced to book and pay for a completely new hotel for the whole week.
Booking.com refuses to refund me, saying they can only act if the host agrees – which of course he does not. This means a guest can be made to feel unsafe, be locked out of their paid accommodation from day one, lose the entire payment, and Booking does nothing about it.
This is not customer service. This is a complete failure to protect paying customers.
I would strongly advise everyone to think very carefully before booking through Booking.com, especially with non-refundable rates. In serious cases, they offer almost no real support.
Never using Booking.com again.
