I got a 4 year old "rescue" GSD in March 2016 who was really dog aggressive and had no "manners" at all. I was used to "training GSD's" from a very early age, my father was a GSD dog handler and we used to breed them, and I have "rescued" a number of them previously. However; I couldn't get the dog aggression out of this dog at all. I used to have to muzzle her everywhere we went and she would even pull me over if we were out to "get" to another dog to attack it. I was at my wits end and had even thought of re-homing my dog; I couldn't even walk her down the street without incident! I considered using a dog behaviourist but the ones local to me charge more money overall than a week's fee at ADK9. In addition; my daughter's spaniel was not cured after 8 sessions with the behaviourist and they were expected to provide "constant input" . The spaniel was still dog aggressive after the 8 weeks and having paid upfront for something which didn't work, my daughter was told "there is nothing they could do" ...she "probably didn't put in enough work herself". After speaking to Craig who was confident they could probably help, I thought my dog deserved "one last chance". My dog was at ADK9 for 9 days in November 2016 and is totally transformed! I was able to take her on "play dates" with other dogs as soon as we got back home. We have no "dog aggression" issues anymore! People don't believe she is the same dog! Our sincere thanks to all the team, especially Xander who not only ensured that my dog got her specialist dietary requirements she is on, but also sent me regular update texts and photos of my "girl" whilst she was at the facility. I had to go away for a week mid Jan 2017 and couldn't take the dog with me. My first thought was "ADK9 will give her mental simulation and extra training". Boarding kennels are called that for a reason! It was lovely to see my "girl" excited to be back there when we went back to the facility. She clearly remembered Xander who was her trainer both times. I am SO thrilled at what they did for my dog that I whenever I need to go away in future, I will definitely pay the little bit extra to ensure that she never sits "bored" in "boarding kennels" again! To me it is an investment in my dog; she is evidently happy there, is well looked after, I get regular updates, have the benefit of support from them if I ever need it; the extra training will never go amiss either!
