Exercise caution with this service. When collections are missed, you’re left in the dark. It’s up to you to notify them about the missed pickups, and even then, details about rescheduling are scarce. The same excuses about vehicle breakdowns come up repeatedly, yet the issue is simply postponed until the following week — meanwhile, you have to leave your bin out, attracting litter and dumped waste. No credits are given for missed collections, and if you try to switch from weekly to fortnightly pickups, they claim it’s not allowed, even as you’re forced to cope with the infrequency due to their failures. There was no communication regarding Christmas collections (our scheduled pickup was on Christmas Day), resulting in a complete miss that week, only for them to show up on New Year's Day when we had secured our bin to avoid it being filled with trash. The contract states you can terminate with three months' notice, but upon giving notice, they still threaten you with early termination fees. Additionally, there’s a cleaning fee of over £50+VAT upon termination. Cleaning a bin shouldn’t cost £60; most cleaners do it for under £10. Given the filthy state of our bin when we received it, this seems like just another way for them to charge for a service they don’t actually provide.
