I have successfully booked many hotels via Agoda. So I tried booking an attraction conveniently through the App the evening before my visit. I received no voucher within the App. Instead I received an email with a link. When I attempted to use the link, it was broken.
I returned to the App to request the voucher again and received a second email. It said the voucher was attached but there was no attachment and this time there was no link either. No in-App help was available until after the voucher had expired. So I called the hotline. The system did not recognise my booking number. In the end I had to pay full price for another ticket at the attraction.
I sent Agoda a video proving that the link was not working. However, the next day the link was working and customer service agent Sha refused to offer a refund.
I do not know if it was Agoda or a third party who were the cause of the broken link but this is clearly a scam whereby one or both profits from the voucher being inaccessible on the day for which it is issued. It is certainly inexcusable that when I requested the voucher again the email from Agoda contained neither a link nor an attachment. For this reason I strongly suspect they are complicit.
Don't make my mistake. Go direct to a ticket provider and don't use Agoda to book attractions.
