I have a very bad experience with Agoda which is still ongoing. Through this way I also hope to contact them as any contact which I have had with them about this subject, and there have been numerous, have only lead to stress due to the either the inability to get contact or severe miscommunication.
On the 10th of March I tried to make a booking for a hotel in essaouira, Morocco for 13-16 March. I kept getting a failed booking response, 5 times in total, also confirmed through e mail. I then proceeded to book the same stay at the same hotel through booking.com which went without any problem. Apparently the agoda platform experienced some technical errors. At arrival at the hotel, it however became clear that there was a double booking: apparently one of the attempts at booking the hotel through the agoda platform did follow through. Despite the obvious double booking, the hotel was unwilling to cooperate and cancel the second booking. This resulted in a lot of stress and annoyance because of all the unfruitful communication with both the hotel staff and Agoda..
As the double booking is purely the result of the technical error of the Agoda platform at the moment of booking, we are not responsible for the double booking and should and therefore will not pay double. We have tried contacting agoda numerous times but communication through both the app and email failed multiple times (the email is simply unanswered). All very frustrating and inefficient.
Due to the obvious technical
Malfunctioning of the Agoda platform, of which we have proof (5 separate emails stating the booking cannot be made), we demand our money back from this booking. The reference IDs of these bookings/emails are the following:
