I had a booking with free cancellation up to two days before my trip to Paris. The day before, my family informed me that my mom was about to die, so I had to change my plans and travel to see her for the last time. I asked Agoda if, given the unforeseen circumstances, they could help me to reschedule the trip and apply my budget to a later date. They asked for documentation confirming the situation, which I provided. Their response was that the hotel did not accept my request. I then called the hotel directly, and they gave me a discount, free breakfast for two, and rescheduled my trip. Booking with Agoda is not recommended.
