Following a flight cancelled on the same day for technical reasons, I had to take another flight the next morning, resulting in a delay of over 24 hours in reaching my final destination. I asked AIG to compensate me in accordance with the contract I had taken out. AIG refused, claiming that the cancellation clause does not apply in such cases. The contract only covers cancellation at the customer's request (illness, death of a close relative, etc.).AIG informs me that I have to make my request directly to the airline for the European delay compensation. In short, insurance that doesn't insure anything... Avoid.
