Is Air Astana Exhibiting a Lack of Transparency? If it would be the height of ignorance or not have the capacity to understand the most straightforward issue within an international flight operating company, it is Air Astana I recently encountered a frustrating situation with Air Astana due to a booking issue with Getaflight.co.uk. Getaflight failed to inform me that my ticket to Almaty didn't include standard check-in luggage and simply directed me to contact Air Astana.Air Astana's website, despite its international appearance, lacked clarity. When I tried to book standard check-in luggage, I was directed to the option "ADDITIONAL LUGGAGE!" However, even after clearing cookies and using different browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome), there was no "edit" option available.Upon contacting Air Astana again, I was informed that adding luggage could only be done manually by their staff, incurring a £20 admin fee. Despite contesting this with screenshots as evidence, the customer service team refused to acknowledge the website issue and insisted on the £20 fee, along with an additional £182.2 for the "luggage" (which was essentially the standard check-in allowance). My complaint regarding this lack of transparency went unanswered. Air Astana offered no responsibility and suggested contacting their Almaty office or emailing their head office.
