The worst of the worst and horrific service I have ever encountered in my life. If I could give 0 star, I would have done it. I booked 2 nights in an apartment via Airbnb. The next day when I checked the bank statement, I was double charged so I made a claim both Airbnb and the bank. Airbnb told me to contact my bank as Airbnb only changed once. Then I contacted to the bank to make a claim. The next day Airbnb automatically cancelled my reservation, just 5 days before our trip, by saying that the payment didn’t go through. I have conducted what’s necessary as demanded by Airbnb and now our reservation was cancelled. I recontactes Airbnb to know what’s going on and they couldn’t answer me. Instead they suggested me a few other listing options so that I can book another place. We have booked an entire apartment, but what they proposed me was way far from the initial booking place, or shared apartment with the host etc… non of the criteria was matching. What a pity, they offered me 20% of the initial booking price as a coupon to recompense the « damage » but all the listing left was 2 or 3 times more expensive than our initial booking so no way to book as our budget was limited. It was scandalous as no one understands the mechanism of the « double charge » investigation system and if you follow their instructions, you would lose your booking reservation and you have to pay 2-3 times more so that you can find another place to stay. I would normally wouldn’t write negative reviews as it is a personal experience but this was just outrageous. The double payment is not rectified yet either. No service available and yet I don’t understand why they have a « Airbnb service charge ». I am physically and mentally sick due to this incident and I was obligated to cancel the trip.
