From Dallas Fort Worth To Paris
My husband and I had paid for our seats: a window seat for me and the one on my left for him. At check-in, we were directed to kiosks to check ourselves in! It makes you wonder what the ground staff are even there for. The machine then assigned us both new seats in the middle of a row of four!!! We had to put our foot down, and after 15 solid minutes of refusing to budge, a manager finally resolved the situation for us.
Once we reached our seats, the usual small amenity kit containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, and other accessories was missing. Apparently, they’re cutting costs! What a shame, as I was counting on them to freshen up during the flight! 10 hours is a long time!
Furthermore, the movie selection was abysmal, the screen was sluggish, it kept glitching…
Moving on, my seat wouldn’t recline; it was broken, making it impossible to sleep properly!
The icing on the cake? The food was absolutely horrific: serving tasteless pasta in ridiculous cardboard trays to a customer paying over 1,000$ for a 10-hour flight, seriously? A piece of cheddar and some mashed potatoes drowned in a foul mayonnaise substitute! I didn’t eat a thing! And I had the pleasure of hearing the flight attendant boasting about the quality of their products and their desire to showcase France through "choice gourmet dishes"! Ha ha ha, there was nothing French about it, not even the water! Moreover, at no point did they offer the small cheese club sandwiches mid-flight, something they used to do because, yes, we were hungry! Budget cuts after budget cuts!
Let’s talk about breakfast, what a disgrace! No tray, oh no, just a ridiculous little cardboard box smaller than a McDonald’s Happy Meal, with stale bread, jam, butter, and an undercooked piece of quiche! Given the ticket prices, it’s scandalous. Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, American Airlines, British Airways, and Delta leave you in the dust! And I’m not even mentioning the Gulf planes… In short, take notes!
The return flight was catastrophic: a sick man in front of me and two young children behind me kicking my seat and screaming bloody murder the whole way. Parenting is an art that, these days, has been lost! The food was still just as low-end, no amenity kit, and a slow screen.
As far as I’m concerned, I won’t be caught out again. Even if it means having a layover, good riddance Air France, and never again!
