I recently flew with Air Mauritius, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised!
Having flown to Mauritius frequently with carriers like Air France and British Airways, my expectations were set to a "standard" international level, but Air Mauritius is actually doing a much better job than I thought.
The cabin crew was welcoming and very friendly. The food was significantly better than other international airlines, the plane was clean and the entertainment system packed with nice movies and games… I genuinely don’t have any regrets choosing Air Mauritius.
If you're looking for a comfortable flight at a reasonable price and a friendly "island" vibe before you even land, I highly recommend them.

Very disappointed with Mauritius Air. I paid for a Business Class ticket, but my seat was broken for the entire flight — completely unacceptable for a premium fare.Even worse, after three months of chasing, I’m now being ignored with no proper response or resolution. Extremely poor customer service.
I paid full fare for a business class flight between Mauritius and Cape Town. Despite sitting near the front of the business class cabin the vegetarian option was not available. No alternative was offered or forthcoming.In addition the screen was out of order for the entire flight. No explanation or apology that I sat with no meal or entertainment for 5.5 hours. Back home and after making a complaint I was offered a 25% discount on the Cape Town/Mauritius route but I am unlikely to travel to Africa again and since requesting the discount be applied to a route of my choosing there has been no contact from Air Mauritius. I am very disappointed in the lack of communication from Air Mauritius. I feel they compare very unfavourably with other airlines such as BA and Virgin in this respect
A huge shoutout to the team! Our flight was delayed, but they waited patiently to deliver the car at the airport. Their customer service is brilliant and knowing they are a local, dependable company made all the difference. Zero hassle rental!
Never again will I fly with Air Mauritius!For the outbound flight, the departure was changed four times within three months… extremely annoying, but fine — it happened. We reserved and PAID for our seats but did NOT receive them.Now for the return flight, we were informed 13 hours before departure that the flight would be delayed by 12 hours. We have to vacate our accommodation, so we no longer have a place to stay — and the same goes for our rental car. Because of the 12-hour delay, we also miss our onward connection in our home country.A total disaster and an absolute disgrace. I would NEVER fly with Air Mauritius again! Worst service ever.
Took a return flight from Mauritius to Malaysia, the price has gone up so much! The airplane looked so old inside I was shocked! Haven't taken an air Mauritius flight in so long...but this much laisse aller? Food was not good, seats not comfortable, screen/entertainment set was so old, there was nothing much on it. On the return flight the staff were being so loud at the back I couldn't sleep at all. One of the air hostess bumped into my elbow after the breakfast service and spilled my tea everywhere, then just a quick apology and she grabbed some tissue and she was off, I was flabbergasted. They keep their stuff on the overhead compartment and this guy kept taking his stuff in and out and bending in my direction which means I got his butt in my face a lot. This was so uncomfortable omg. There's no respect for the customer or proper etiquette dear lord. First and last time I'm flying with Air Mauritius, I'd rather pay extra and get a better service with Emirates!
After waiting a nearly a year for our holiday of a lifetime. .our 25th wedding anniversary in Mauritius. Air Mauritius cancelled our return flight, 2 weeks before we travelled. 3 days of anxiety and nearly having to cancel, we had to cut our holiday short to get a flight home. No apologies, no reason as to why our flight was cancelled. We assume it wasn't a full flight so they do what they like. They'd had our money in full for 4 months and now im going to have to fight to get some refund. They've offered £98 for our inconvenience!!!!! We lost part of our holiday fgs! I dont forsee a good outcome for such disgusting treatment sadly. Never again and id never recommend them. Now I understand why they are financially in a mess. No regard for customers
Very much let down by Air Mauritius by them not providing the extra leg room that was paid for. They did provide a refund for this, but the extra leg room was a necessity for us, and we were provided with no extra compensation for this oversight and my emails to them have been ignored.
