April 2021 - Needed to transport my 1990 Corvette Z51 from California to San Antonio Texas. To me it's precious cargo. My issue was different from most, I didn't need a quick pick up, I need to make sure the car did not arrive at its destination before I did. I looked at all the usual brokers, but I was impressed by the video's Wes did providing background on the industry, process and costs. I am used to shipping cargo as the former manager for trade shows of a major aerospace company. I didn't want to overpay but I wasn't pinching pennies, I wanted my car delivered safely, and efficiently, I wanted an enclosed trailer. I ended up working out the shipping over a couple of late nights as my house closed on a 10 day escrow and I was busy with multiple moving pieces. I was flexible, my mechanic would hold the car, and the driver contracted would pick it up from him, and call me when he was a day out from delivering it. The carrier picked up my car three days after I left California which was fine with me, and delivered it three days later on time, in great condition. The car was riding in a big rig trailer, pretty chrome just as you would imagine for exotic car hauling, clean as a whistle inside and amazingly out. My driver was careful with my Vette which was parked under a Lambo and behind a Bentley. Could I have found cheaper, maybe that wasn't my criteria, what I found was a provider that was straight forward, no pressure, answered all questions, worked with me to meet my needs for pickup and delivery and was in my opinion a great value. Quality and care were my value points. When my car was picked up I was sent multiple pictures of the car before it was loaded, yes CYA I know but the right thing, images of it loaded.. Great communication, excellent follow up to questions I had well in transit because on the receiving end I was busy moving into a new house and was in the sales office buying another when the car arrived. Would I use airryd/Midwest Exotic Auto Transport again, in a heartbeat. They delivered everything promised. I like the flat brokerage fee, I paid cash to the driver, and I like knowing that that person actually entrusted with my cargo is getting the reward of the contract and exercising the care for my goods that brings. My car was too important to me for a lowest bidder that might not respect the car.
