First off, I’m surprised by how expensive alarms are now. The bill after installation was a bit of a shock. Having said that, if you are looking for a basic and cheap alarm, you can get something like a wifi based system like Ring or Eufy. If you are spending this much you should make use of all the smart features it has. With that in mind, I think this is a great alarm: Resistant to wifi hacking to some extent is reassuring. Battery backup included, so it keeps working even during the numerous power outages we have (due to building work in our new house) Great app, allows you to set it from anywhere. Motion sensors also monitor temperature The system doubles up as a security and fire alert system. You can add lasers to your house for the ultimate in perimeter defence! You can water alerts (eg if a washing machine leaks in the utility room). The company that make this are based in Ukraine and obviously they’re had a lot of disruption recently, but interestingly rather the disappearing, they’ve continued to send updates to their app, and make announcements. They’ve even made a ‘missile alert’ app for the people of Ukraine. They seem like a decent company and I hope they stay around for a long time to come. Negatives The geofence is terrible. Even though I’ve experimented with the range, it constantly says I’ve left my house and prompts me to set the alarm when I’m watching TV / in bed etc.
