Aldi is our nearest supermarket and it is not a pleasant experience for many reasons. The staff are distant and lack patience or empathy. They run out of stock of basic items, sometimes quite early in the day.Their bakery section is pre wrapped long life products. Many being low quality. (No fresh in this branch)The constant opening and closing of tills, with no consideration for customers who have queued reflects their attitude to customer service. The lack of room to pack at the till is deliberate, trying to force people to re-pack in the area away from it.The will try and forcefully place items directly in your trolly if you do not keep up, to try and force you to do the same and get you away from the til area. The layout and displays are generally scruffy and dishevelled. There are always big trollies of goods in the aisles causing blockages and the staff make little effort to help you go past.I could go on.I don't have to go there! Correct but it does not change the issues.I visited Lidl today. A two mile dive through a large town. What a contrast!Quite the opposite on all the above issues.Wider isles. Fully stocked shelves and for me, better quality products at a similar price. Staff were more willing to assist, with a smile. For me Tesco and Sainsburys are the complete package. Stock all the items you may need. Show genuine customer care and will walk with you to find a product you are looking for. Are competitive on prices of most things and the person on the till will generally pause and wait for you if you are falling a bit behind. They are British companies and I feel I should give them my support whenever I can.
