I've just eaten one of Aldi's gastro fish pies and it was the best fish pie I've ever eaten. It was full of chunky fish and prawns and crispy potato in a lovely sauce. I will definitely be buying more and I can't believe it's so reasonably priced.
I purchased an Aldi Ferrex circular saw from the Newport branch 8 months ago, I am an occasional user and therefore expected the Saw to last longer than it did when smoke and a burning smell came out of it. When I returned it to the store, the manager was most unhelpful and refused to deal with the issue only sighting the Manufacturer despite pointing out to her that I was returning it because it was a faulty product and there was a safety issue. I would warn anyone considering buying Ferrex products from Aldi to be aware that when it goes wrong, Aldi will adopt the nothing to do with us Guv attitude. Sorry Aldi, I will not be buying Ferrex items from you again.
I bought chicken ,minced beef and steak under the assumption it was non Halal only to find out it was Halal but not labelled…I find this very deceitful..
I find Halal slaughter barbaric and has no place in the UK.
I returned the meat and emailed head office to ask questions..they didn’t even respond…
We as humans have a right to know what we are eating.i won’t shop there again..I refuse to support a company that has no concerns on the treatment of animals and how they treat their customers..disgusting 🤬
I am so glad got a local aldi in moston.alot of reasonable.prices.food usualy good.best part for me .it's a sociable experience..the friendly staff who r polite and chatty.some of the people who go in chat in the queue.i go in often.
I am registered blind. I have been shopping in this store, with my niece, for several months now. The staff are friendly, and patient. The produce is good quality, at an affordable price. Highly recommended!
Bought a shop of 50 pounds. The quality of food is very low.
This is a low price store with even lower quality products.
Rather pay a little more for a bit of quality.
AVOID THIS STORE UNLESS YOUR BROKE
I recently visited a grocery store in Horsham, spending less than 25 minutes and just over £48. Now, I've received a £70 parking fine in the mail for using the store's car park. I no longer have my receipt. Apparently, there's a requirement to enter your car registration, but it was dark when I arrived, and I didn't notice any signs about this. Clearly, I won't be returning.
I had a deeply distressing and humiliating experience at the store. I entered around 08:00 pm today to look for an item but left empty-handed. As I was exiting, a security guard stopped me and requested to search my bag. When I inquired about the reason, he claimed he suspected me because I hadn't used the checkout or made a purchase. In essence, I was regarded as suspicious simply for leaving without buying anything. The guard became aggressive and refused to listen when I calmly explained that it's normal for customers to browse without buying. Despite the absence of any valid justification, he searched my personal bag in front of other customers. Nothing was found, but the public search was humiliating and distressing. While I was still trying to communicate with him, he abruptly walked away to call the manager, even though I hadn't requested one. The explanation provided afterward did not justify my treatment. What made matters worse was witnessing the same guard and the female manager he called go outside for a smoke break shortly after, while other customers exited without any checks. This made the entire incident feel arbitrary and careless rather than based on genuine suspicion. I have shopped at various supermarkets for years and have often left without purchasing anything. I've never experienced such treatment before. Being publicly searched and treated with suspicion for no reason was upsetting and unacceptable. Customers should not be treated as suspects simply for not making a purchase. A formal complaint has already been submitted via the company's online chat.
While visiting friends for the holidays, I made a significant purchase at their local store on 21/12/25. On Christmas day, I opened a large cheese sharing platter (use by date 13/01/26) only to discover it was covered in mould. I reached out to customer service, providing clear photos of the packaging and the mouldy contents. They instructed me to return it to the store with my receipt or bank statement for a refund. I explained that I'm 80, paid in cash for a large shopping trip, didn't keep the receipt, and live 34 miles away. Their response was essentially dismissive, stating they couldn't assist me. The customer service was appalling; thankfully, my local store treats customers with respect.
I am quite let down by my local store after a recent shopping trip. I attempted to buy six bags of coal and six bags of birch logs, only to be informed that I had to bring them inside to complete the purchase. This seems absurd to me; I went there to shop, not to lift heavy items. They mentioned that they don't use a code at the checkouts due to theft, but that feels like a problem they should address instead of making customers carry 20-kilo bags. What if someone is older or has mobility issues? Even though I'm reasonably fit, it still felt like a workout. Please, store management, address this issue or reconsider offering these products.
