A few months ago, while using the self-service checkout, a staff member approached me and reached into my bag, questioning a pack of cleaning pads I had bought from a different store, asking if they were from another retailer. Today, the same individual asked if I had completed my checkout, claiming she didn’t see me pay, even though there were no alarms triggered. Fifteen minutes later, after I returned to grab a forgotten item, I was again asked to open my bag, and she insisted, 'They are our items.' I responded that I had just purchased them, to which she replied, 'Yes, I can see you have a receipt,' even though I hadn’t shown one. I have seen others leave the store with multiple trays of fresh meat without any challenge, yet I, an older customer, have been stopped three times.
