I had a 6 year old La Conica coffee maker that had a defect in the bottom chamber. I contacted Alessi customer service to see where I could buy a replacement bottom chamber. They informed me that they would simply send me the replacement at no cost.
Imagine my surprise when I received the package and it was an entirely brand new complete La Conica coffee maker! Where I live in Canada this is a $600 product, which is a luxury for me, and is one of the few very fine things I own. It makes better coffee than any other method, as far as I am concerned. I was astonished to receive a whole brand new La Conica.
I didn't even have to pay for shipping.
