Con Artists! I would advise everyone to stay away from them in particular landlords. I decided to try them for the first time to let out a property in the canary wharf area. I was dealing with Harry Neal at the Canary Wharf area. Although I was pushed a lot into retaining them for management of the property I declined and only elected to instruct them to find me tenants. It was explicitly agreed they would only be charging me 8 % plus vat of the annual rent. I got a very excited call that perfect Tenants who had been with Alex Neil for three years were now looking for a bigger property to move into and had loved my property after viewing it. I was informed that they they wanted to rent my property for 3 years. As I am looking to sell the property I informed them that I was looking to only rent it out for 2 years (thank God for that). I however made it clear that I will not pay the agent commission up front for 2 years and wanted to pay that monthly. Given that I wasn't agreeing to proceed otherwise I kept getting sales calls everyday with an excited tone of how they had worked out a very special deal for me. All of these special deals turned out to be ways of how they could actually charge me more by taking up more services (management services etc) from them for less. In any event it was agreed in the end that they would deduct the first years commission from the first rent and then deduct the rent for the 2nd year at the beginning of the second year. My tenant then proceeded to transfer both the first months rent and six weeks deposit. Without any discussion with me or the tenants, they have retained the entire amount (including the deposit!!!) and transferred only £ 92 to me. I have them emailed them with evidence that this was not what was agreed and forwarded the emails to them. No response. This will definitely not be the end of it and although they are not formally regulated by any body, I will be making necessary complains to different bodies which may well take up interest in this matter. Retaining the deposit is unlawful on their end and I have also informed the tenants of this.This is an extremely unprofessional firm and are literally (as the other reviews suggest) out to only con people out of their money. I strongly believe the other positive reviews on other websites is as a result of paying for them and they are not legit.
