I found All American via a reputable site that does moving comparisons. Before my move, I talked to a few different reps for All American and went over what was being moved in detail. I was quoted $3500 for the move with $1700 being paid upfront. I did a little research (NOT ENOUGH) and decided to go with them.A week before the move, I again talked to a rep and added a few additional items to the list. I was told unequivocably that there was plenty of room for all my items and the quote was still valid. The movers were supposed to arrive on July 27, 2025 between 10am – 2pm with a call 30 minutes before arriving. They never showed or even called to let me know. After making several calls to find out the status, I was told that they had another move that day, that they would arrive the next morning (July 28th), and that I would be prioritized. Again on July 28th, they did not show or call to inform me. I again had to call to find out the status and was told that they would arrive on July 29th. These 2 no-shows caused me to miss 2 days of work. After this, I started doing a further dive on the company - REALLY wish I had done a deeper dive before hiring. I saw dozens of reviews that stated they are basically a bait and switch company and after movers arrived, the price would be raised exponentially above what was quoted. I was hopeful that this would not be the case for me, but after what I saw, I pretty much expected it.Sure enough, the movers did arrive on July 29th - in a rented Penske truck - and told me there was not enough room for all my items. They quoted a new price of almost $6,000. After haggling about this for awhile, I rejected their new terms and asked them to leave. There were 41 items on the move list, and I only had 31 (and all within the size limits agreed to). This was an obvious bait and switch move that they are apparently known for. After I asked them to leave, I immediately called All American to request a refund and was told I had to contact Customer Service via email for this. I did send their Customer Support an email on July 29th to which they responded that I had more items than I disclosed and that their obligations were met; however, they stated that to request a refund, I needed to email their Billing Department. I did send two emails to their Billing Department requesting a refund. The last email was sent on July 31st. Neither of those emails was responded to.As stated above, it is not true that I had more items than was disclosed… all items were disclosed and were listed. This is a scam company who will give you a low estimate to hook you, jack it up when the movers arrive and then keep your deposit. I was lucky that I was able to rent a U-Haul and perform the move myself with help of friends. Many others have to be out immediately and don't have that luxury. They are forced to pay the extra and All American knows this. SCAM!
