Allianz (Australia) Travel Medical has been the worst experience - I haven’t purchased with them in a very long time and I’m reminded why. I’m travelling with my brother who has Allianz. He was taken to hospital and we contacted the “emergency number” which isn’t really an “emergency” assistance you’d need for a medical emergency. Trying to find an alternative number for emergency was a joke unless you’re using an American assistance. They had him repeat all his details they already had on file - and not to confirm it was him but to fill in again. They didn’t give any medical advice or send him through to any medical staff for further advice. They were meant to contact him but only emailed standard email. We called several times and he gave us authority to talk to the Allianz team. Finally this morning we got a hold of them again, and she tried to put me through to medical staff and she couldn’t get through. The operator had promised for them to call me back - hours later we’re still waiting for their advice. He is going into surgery and we still don’t know if he’s covered or if this is the best option. I don’t know if this is just the experience of the Australian Allianz but NEVER use this company EVER!
