Stay away from them is my advice. I was a longtime customer with Allsecure, I paid my preemies automatically, never had a problem. My only claim was one windscreen fix after the glass just spontaneously cracked in a winter years ago. Not a biggie. Then Allianz Direct took over. I got one email announcing that now I am a client of Allianz Direct, nothing changes for me. A month later I got email that the insurance is canceled because I had not paid my preemies. I thought it must be a mistake because I have automatic incasso. I called Allianz who claimed they have send me warning mails, which I NEVER received. I am certain because I never delete my emails, not even the spam or the trash. COULD NOT FIND A THING. I apparently needed to authorize them to continue the automatic payments, which I had not realized as I thought nothing changed for me. I also have never been asked such thing when a company I have been a client with has merged before. Had a friendly call with an employee first, she agreed to continue the contract because I had missed the brief. We even changed the account from where to withdraw the preemies to be sure there are always funds available and I gave the permission for automatic payments in that phone call. At the end of it I asked if I have to do anything else and I was told no, everything is taken care of and I will be informed. One month later I got again an email telling me I have not paid and my insurance is canceled. I thought this must be a mistake. I had another phone call thinking all will be fine, since we had an agreement. But I got a person in a phone who basically told me off, refused to provide any kind of help and accused me of intentionally not paying the preemies fully aware of the consequences - meaning being registered now for non payment. Again, she claimed they had send me emails. When I said I have no emails and I have never seen one she said they have send me messages through client portal. I had not looked at the client portal yet. I checked the portal, there is no such thing where you can send messages for the clients. Then they change the story again to emails. In one of the following several phone calls an employee finally told me they ONLY messages through emails. The ONLY emails I have received from the Allianz Direct were once announcing the insurance is canceled, NO warnings, NO phone calls, NO letters. I have asked Allianz to resent the emails e or at least tell what was the content of those mails. The excuse I've heard now is that the system tells mails have been sent, but they cannot resent then or open them. I've been promised they will try to see if they can resend the mails. I've been promised to be called back, I've been promised to be contacted, never happened. Till today I have not seen the mails nor do I have knowledge what was in them. But obviously I am the one who is lying here and purposely jeopardizing my chances of having my car insured. I have a new insurer now which cost me extra 100 euros a year and my name is in some mysterious registry which severely limits my options to close a new insurance once this has ended. From my behalf I tried to settle the issue with Allianz from very beginning, but Allianz obviously refuse to acknowledge they have played their part in what ever confusion, mistake or misunderstanding there might have in communication from their side. Instead they chose to frame me as a half criminal and put me in some kind of register. I was even told in phone 'Good luck with that' by the employee when I said I guess I have to find a new insurance company now, as if she had a personal vendetta on me. I rest my case. Such a disappointing takeover of a company who at least knew how to serve their clients. Allianz Direct is just meh. And I see I'm not the only one with a BAD experience.
